Stair & Handrail Carpenter

YNB Quality Stairs is a Brooklyn-based custom stair shop specializing in high-end residential and commercial stairways. We build custom curved staircases, custom handrails, and fine architectural fittings to exacting standards. We are looking for a skilled Custom Stair & Handrail Carpenter to join our team. This is hands-on craft work for someone who takes pride in precision joinery and finished results.

What You'll Do

- Build and install custom staircases, including curved and radius stairs

• Fabricate and fit custom handrails, balustrades, and railing systems

• Produce custom fittings and architectural millwork to spec

• Read shop drawings and take precise field measurements

• Layout, cut, and assemble stair components (treads, risers, stringers, newels)

• Finish work to a high standard for residential and commercial installs

What We're Looking For

- Experience in finish carpentry, stair building, or architectural millwork

• Strong understanding of stair geometry and layout

• Proficiency with hand and power tools; ability to work to tight tolerances

• Attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship

• Reliable, able to work both in the shop and on-site

Compensation

$28 - $38 per hour, depending on experience.
