HVAC/R Start-up Technician - Commercial & Industrial

Our client, a national leader in commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVAC, is hiring an HVAC/R Start-up Technician in Virginia Beach, VA.

What you'll do:

- Start up new supermarket parallel rack and individual refrigeration systems

- Evacuate parallel racks after verifying pressure tests

- Wire and program EMS systems (CPC, Novar, Danfoss)

- Lead small projects like case and condenser changeouts

- Support energy optimization work: retro-commissioning, EMS and leak detection upgrades, gas conversions

- Help branches with problem stores and train junior techs and foremen

What you bring:

- High school diploma/GED plus trade school coursework

- 5+ years of commercial refrigeration, especially parallel racks (CO2 a plus)

- 3+ years of supermarket EMS experience; EMS certification preferred

- EPA Type I and II certification

- Journeyman-level installation skills (refrigeration, electrical, plumbing)

- Able to read blueprints and troubleshoot supermarket refrigeration

- Valid driver's license and good driving record

- Open to travel, overnights, and overtime
