About SRV Temperature Solutions
SRV is a fast-growing commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVAC/R company serving customers across six states. In about three years we've built a reputation for quality, safety, and teamwork. Our technicians service walk-in coolers and freezers, rack systems, convenience store refrigeration, and commercial HVAC, and we're adding people quickly.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced, hands-on HR Manager with a strong background in employment law, contracts, and multi-state compliance, ideally in the skilled trades, construction, or refrigeration. You'll lead HR across all of our locations, keep our policies legally sound in every state we operate in, and build the programs that help a growing field workforce stay and thrive. An HR Generalist/Recruiter on the team will handle day-to-day hiring and onboarding with you.
Responsibilities
Lead full-cycle HR operations across a multi-state field workforce, including recruiting, onboarding, training, and employee relations.
Develop and maintain compliant policies, procedures, and employee handbooks for every state we operate in.
Draft, review, and manage employment contracts, subcontractor agreements, and vendor documentation.
Advise ownership and managers on labor law, compliance updates, and risk management.
Research, recommend, implement, and administer employee benefits, including open enrollment and broker relationships.
Manage investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution with professionalism and confidentiality.
Partner with payroll and accounting to keep pay, records, and compliance accurate.
Build pay structures, performance reviews, and career paths for technicians and leads as the company grows.
Track and report HR metrics such as headcount, turnover, and time-to-fill.
Supervise and develop the HR Generalist/Recruiter.
Monitor changes in state and federal employment law and update policies accordingly.
Qualifications
5+ years of HR management experience, preferably in construction, refrigeration, HVAC, or other skilled trades.
Strong knowledge of employment law, contracts, and compliance across multiple states.
Experience with employee relations, investigations, and workforce planning.
Experience building policies, handbooks, and HR processes from the ground up.
Comfortable advising owners and managers and handling difficult conversations with discretion.
Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
Exceptional attention to detail and organization.
PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP preferred.
Able to travel occasionally to branch locations.
Benefits
Competitive salary based on experience
Medical, dental, vision, life, and short- and long-term disability insurance
401(k) plan
Paid time off and 8 paid holidays
Remote or hybrid flexibility
