About the Role
As a Construction Accounting Specialist, you'll support the financial success of our construction and service operations by managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing, billing, and account reconciliations. You'll work closely with project managers, accounting, and operations to ensure projects remain financially organized while delivering excellent internal and external customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Process vendor and subcontractor invoices accurately and on time
Generate customer invoices, progress billings, and final invoices
Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections
Track job costs, purchase orders, change orders, and retainage
Reconcile vendor statements, customer accounts, and company credit cards
Support project managers with job costing and financial reporting
Maintain organized accounting records and project documentation
Prepare reports and assist with month-end accounting activities
Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
Provide administrative support to the accounting and operations teams as needed
Requirements
Education & Experience
2–5 years of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience
Construction accounting experience strongly preferred
Experience with job costing, retainage, progress billing, or AIA billing preferred
Experience with accounting software such as ServiceTitan, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Office

Successful candidates consistently maintain accurate financial records, process invoices and billings efficiently, support project managers with timely financial information, and help keep projects financially organized from start to finish. They communicate effectively, identify opportunities to improve processes, and contribute to the overall success of the team through accuracy, accountability, and collaboration.
