Position based in Flushing, NY – Hybrid/Field-Based Role
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Project Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who understands the technical side of commercial HVAC and can manage multiple projects while coordinating subcontractors, clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
You should have a strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, including ductwork, sheet metal, insulation, hydronic piping, refrigerant piping, and equipment. This is not a position for someone who only wants to sit behind a desk—you should be comfortable going into the field, tracking project progress, and managing subcontractors.
Experience with sheet metal, duct installation, and HVAC startups is highly valuable.
Ability to obtain a SIDA Badge for Airport Contracts is required.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in the HVAC trade, preferably with commercial project management experience
Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, ductwork, insulation, hydronic piping, refrigerant piping, and sheet metal
Manage multiple commercial HVAC projects concurrently
Manage and coordinate subcontractors throughout the project
Visit job sites to track project progress and subcontractor performance
Create project budgets and track costs
Manage procurement of approved and specified equipment and materials
Ensure equipment and materials are ordered, tracked, and delivered on time to maintain project schedules
Create and maintain tracking logs for equipment, materials, and submittals
Track approvals, ordering, shipping, and delivery dates
Create and track project submittals, RFIs, piping shop drawings, sheet metal shop drawings, and change orders
Assist with project closeout and create/distribute closeout documents upon final payment
Attend weekly meetings with office staff to coordinate job progress and timelines
Create takeoffs to estimate the cost of insulation, sheet metal, piping, and equipment for upcoming project bids
Communicate effectively with subcontractors, clients, suppliers, and internal team members
Ensure all work is completed according to company policies, procedures, project requirements, and safety guidelines
Provide excellent customer service and resolve project issues promptly and professionally
Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
Engineering background is a plus
Experience creating and distributing closeout documents is a plus
Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead and motivate others
Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Universal EPA Certification preferred
Ability to obtain a SIDA Badge for Airport Contracts
Benefits
Salary: $90,000–$120,000 per year, with flexibility for the right candidate

Experience:
Commercial HVAC / Project Management: 5+ years preferred
Subcontractor Management: Experience managing and coordinating subcontractors
Sheet Metal / Ductwork: Strong familiarity with installation and project coordination preferred
License/Certification Requirements:
EPA Universal HVAC Certification: Preferred
SIDA Badge: Must be able to obtain for applicable airport contracts
