HVAC Service Technician

Marr’s is an established local company serving homeowners throughout Bellingham and the surrounding Whatcom County area with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services. They are looking for experienced tradespeople who take pride in quality workmanship and customer service.

The Role

Marr’s is looking for an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join their Bellingham team. This is a residential service-focused position for a technician who can independently diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heating and cooling systems while providing a professional customer experience.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose and repair residential heating and cooling systems

• Service and maintain furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and other residential HVAC equipment

• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant-related issues

• Perform maintenance and tune-ups

• Identify system issues and recommend appropriate repair or replacement options

• Explain findings and recommendations clearly to homeowners

• Complete accurate service documentation and job notes

• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment

• Follow manufacturer specifications, safety procedures, and applicable codes

• Represent Marr’s professionally in customers’ homes

• Work independently while collaborating with the broader team as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Several years of hands-on HVAC service experience

• Strong residential HVAC service and troubleshooting experience preferred

• Ability to independently diagnose and repair HVAC systems

• Experience with furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related residential equipment

• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills

• Understanding of refrigerant systems and HVAC controls

• EPA 608 certification preferred/required based on company requirements

• Professional communication and customer service skills

• Comfortable presenting repair options and discussing recommendations with homeowners

• Valid Washington driver’s license and acceptable driving record

• Reliable, organized, and safety-minded

• Comfortable working independently in the field

Compensation & Benefits

$25–$50/hour, depending on experience and qualifications

• Full-time position
