About the Opportunity
A confidential, fast-growing residential electrification company is building an HVAC installation team in Dallas, TX. The HVAC Team Lead will lead residential installation crews, set the quality standard on each job, support developing technicians, and help establish efficient field operations in a growing market.
This role is suited to an experienced residential installer who can keep work on schedule, coach team members, communicate professionally with homeowners, and ensure every heat-pump installation meets safety, quality, and code requirements.
What You'll Do
- Lead residential HVAC installation crews and divide responsibilities clearly
- Remove existing furnaces and air-conditioning equipment
- Install and commission new heat-pump systems
- Perform refrigerant recovery, system evacuation, charging, and functional testing
- Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation
- Ensure work complies with applicable building codes, permit requirements, and safety standards
- Identify and correct quality issues before completing each job
- Train and mentor less-experienced installers on equipment, installation procedures, and safe work practices
- Keep installations on schedule and hold the crew accountable for workmanship
- Communicate clearly with homeowners, address concerns, and explain installed systems
- Collaborate with technical and field teams to improve installation processes
- Help establish strong field operations as the local market grows
What You Bring
- Extensive hands-on residential HVAC installation experience
- Proven experience leading an installation crew
- Experience training or mentoring junior technicians
- EPA Section 608 Certification
- HVAC NATE certification preferred
- BPI certification preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and wiring schematics
- Strong working knowledge of applicable building codes and compliance requirements
- Strong refrigerant recovery, evacuation, and charging skills
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
- Clear, professional customer and team communication
- Strong attention to quality and a commitment to correcting issues
- Experience with heat pumps or mini-splits is strongly preferred
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and work in varied conditions
- Commitment to OSHA electrical and Lockout/Tagout safety standards
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
Pay: $43 - $48 per hour
