Join the G.F. Bowman Family and Lead Our Plumbing Team in the Field!
At G.F. Bowman, we value family, both in our customers and our employees. We offer a supportive team, real growth opportunities, and industry-leading benefits. If you're an experienced residential service plumber who loves teaching others and wants to help build a great team, we'd love to talk to you.
Position Overview
As our Plumbing Field Leader, you'll be the technical leader of our plumbing department. You'll work side by side with our Plumbing Service Manager to coach, train, and support our technicians, and help hold the team accountable to our processes and the Nexstar service system. Expect to spend at least half your time riding with and training technicians, and the rest running your own calls and solving the toughest problems on the board.
What You'll Do
- Ride along with technicians on calls and provide hands-on technical coaching
- Lead technical trainings in the field and at the shop (water heaters, troubleshooting, specific situations)
- Help hold technicians accountable to company processes and standards, from agenda cards to shoe covers
- Run your own service calls and handle callbacks, warranty issues, and difficult troubleshooting, keeping callbacks within KPI targets
- Help onboard new technicians and support ongoing department training
- Show techs how to use ServiceTitan the right way, including building options and offering financing
- Be available to help the team after hours and on weekends, mostly by phone
- Partner with the Service Manager, technicians, and dispatch to keep the department running smoothly
What We're Looking For
- 5 to 7 years of residential plumbing service experience, including time in a lead or field leader role
- Strong technical skills and the ability to teach them to others
- A genuine passion for customer service and working with homeowners
- Willingness to learn, follow, and champion the Nexstar service system (Nexstar experience not required)
- Comfort with app-based field software (ServiceTitan experience is a plus but not required; we'll train you)
- Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record
- Ability to pass a background check
- Willingness to travel for training, including occasional overnight trips of up to 3 nights (some may require flying)
- Pennsylvania plumbing license is a plus but not required
Pay
- $37 to $45 per hour base
- Monthly gross profit bonus distribution
- Eligible for spiffs
Schedule and On-Call
- Full-time, dispatched from home in a fully stocked company vehicle
- At the Cleona shop 2 to 3 mornings a week for weekly department training and 1:1s
- Weekend on-call only (Saturday and Sunday, 7 AM to 5 PM), with $50 per on-call day, $30 per call run, time and a half on Saturdays, and double time on Sundays and holidays. The Field Leader steps out of the rotation once the team has 5 or more technicians.

- 401(k) with match plus an annual 5% employer contribution
- Paid time off and holiday pay
- Paid training and continuing education
- Take-home company vehicle, tablet, and phone (optional)
- Uniforms provided
- Tool allowance program with company match after 90 days
