    About this role

    D. Honoré Construction is hiring one person to own the front end of our revenue.

We are a commercial construction company in Baton Rouge that has grown on the owner's relationships. That has worked, and it is now our ceiling. This seat exists so growth no longer depends on the founder's phone.

You will own target accounts, qualification, pursuit, and conversion, with a clear path to $20M in annual revenue by the end of 2027. This is not a relationship-maintenance seat. It is a revenue-conversion seat.

What we are actually looking for

We are hiring the who, not the how. We are not going to hand you a playbook and a call quota. You should be able to walk in and tell us how this gets done: the target accounts, the system, the SOPs, the metrics, the cadence, and the timeline. If you need us to define your activity numbers for you, this is not your role.

The right person has already scaled a construction or subcontracting business from single-digit millions to a multiple of that, and can describe exactly how they did it.

    What you will own

    • Build and work a focused list of general contractors, owners, developers, and strategic partners that fit our project profile, with a documented pursuit plan for every priority account.
    • Qualify opportunities on scope, decision process, competition, budget, margin, capacity, and geography before spending estimating and operations time.
    • Drive pursuits to a decision. Secure bid invitations, negotiated work, letters of intent, verbal commitments, purchase orders, and signed contracts.
    • Protect the company from low-margin, low-probability, or subcontractor-unfriendly work. Bringing in a client who grinds us is worse than bringing in nothing.
    • Run the CRM and a weekly revenue review with facts: pipeline by stage, what advanced, what died, what is committed, and what you need from leadership.
    • Own a clean handoff to estimating, operations, and finance, and stay engaged through contract execution.

    The standard

    • $2M per month in new verbal or signed contract commitments, supported by $6M or more in qualified pipeline.
    • At least 5 priority accounts with documented pursuit plans, each with $1M or more in potential.
    • Every high-probability opportunity has an owner, a next action, and a decision date.
    • 80 percent or more of qualified opportunities advance, close, or get disqualified inside the pursuit window.
    • All secured work meets our margin and cash requirements.

    First 90 days

    • Days 1 to 30: Learn our ideal project profile and margin requirements. Build and rank the target-account list. Pursuit plans for the top five accounts. Stand up the CRM stages and weekly reporting. Classify every existing opportunity as pursue, advance, hold, or disqualify.
    • Days 31 to 60: Live relationships with decision-makers in target accounts. Qualified opportunities with dates. Bid and no-bid discipline running with estimating. At least one repeatable source of negotiated work identified.
    • Days 61 to 90: Measurable verbal or signed commitments, a forecast built on evidence instead of optimism, and a 90-day account strategy for the top targets.

The first test is simple: within two weeks, can you produce five target-account pursuit plans, a clean pipeline, and a dated next action for every high-probability opportunity?

    Compensation

$125,000 to $135,000 base, plus a performance incentive tied to contract commitments and margin. Total earnings are uncapped. Strong performers should expect $180,000 or more, and if you bring in outsized revenue the number goes up with it. We will build the incentive plan with the person we hire.

    Who tends to fit

Two profiles work here. Someone who has built this exact function somewhere else and is now bored because it got too structured. Or someone who has done most of it and is capped because the seat above them is not moving. Either way: hungry, already has a network or knows exactly how to build one, and does not need to be managed into activity.

Based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Candidates outside Louisiana willing to relocate will be considered.
