Location: Portland Metro
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23–$30/hour + on-call emergency bonuses & performance pay
Earning Potential: Top-performing Leads can earn $65K–$85K+ annually
Are You a Fit?
You have experience in water mitigation, restoration, or a related construction field and are comfortable taking ownership of a job site.
You understand that mitigation work can be physically demanding and messy, including demolition, hauling materials, working around water damage, and wearing PPE.
You can lead and direct a helper while keeping the job moving efficiently.
You are comfortable working directly with homeowners during stressful situations and can clearly explain the mitigation process.
You are detail-oriented and understand the importance of proper drying, moisture monitoring, and documentation.
You want to continue growing your restoration knowledge and earn additional industry certifications.
What You'll Do
Respond to emergency water, fire, and mold damage calls in residential properties.
Lead mitigation jobs from initial assessment through completion.
Perform water extraction and remove damaged building materials, including drywall, flooring, baseboards, cabinets, and other affected materials.
Set up, monitor, and remove drying equipment, including air movers, dehumidifiers, and air scrubbers.
Take accurate moisture readings, document affected areas, and track drying progress using digital field software.
Direct and work alongside a helper to ensure jobs are completed safely and efficiently.
Communicate directly with homeowners, explain the mitigation process, and set clear expectations.
Maintain accurate job documentation and communicate progress with the team.
Follow all safety procedures and properly use PPE when working in contaminated environments or around mold.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in water mitigation, restoration, or a related construction field.
IICRC WRT certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification.
Experience leading jobs or directing other team members preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to unexpected issues on a job site.
Professional communication and strong customer service skills.
Comfortable using technology and digital field documentation tools.
Physical Requirements & Other Requirements
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies, including nights and weekends.
Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds consistently.
Ability to work on your feet, kneel, bend, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
Comfortable working in crawl spaces, attics, and other confined areas.
Clean, professional appearance and strong communication skills.
